Thanks again, and please tell a few friends if you feel like it. What is The Lyrics Quiz? The Lyrics Quiz is a fun, friendly competition in which you, yes you, can show off your knowledge of song lyrics in return for pride, kudos, and bragging rights. The quiz runs as four "terms", which generally follow the NZ school year. This gives me a bit of a break from time to time, and lets new starters have a go at acing a term. Each Monday (NZ time), I'll send you the lyrics from 6 songs (each week there's a theme, and I try to cover a range of decades), and you have until midday-ish Friday to send me your answers. Thursday evenings (NZ time) I send out a reminder email (with hints!), and Friday afternoons (NZ time) the answers – as well as the leaderboard for the week. To get full marks for each song, I need the title and the original artist. If the song is from a musical, the name of the musical is fine for the artist. If a song is marked as a duet, I need both artists for complete points. I loathe disco, so you can trust there will never, ever be an Abba or a BeeGees song. No, I do not accept feedback on this. All lyrics are taken from Genius.com, so if you think I’ve got them wrong, please address your complaints to them. Sometimes there's a guest quizmaster. You are welcome to volunteer to be the quizmaster one week! You can ask friends, family, colleagues, team mates etc. for help, but you can’t use Google or any other search medium (apps like Shazam are also not allowed). That’s cheating.
