Meanwhile artist-in-residence Sandeep TK is on spotlight this month as he showcases his work at Villa Renata in Basel, Switzerland while we share glimpses of his work in our gallery. EVENTSSandeep TK's exhibition at Villa Renata Sandeep TK will exhibit his works from 6 August to 4 September 2022 as part of his residency. His collection of works titled "Let Me Make My Own Melody" will be showcased alongside other artists at Villa Renata. "TO-GATHER" PROJECTSThe «To-gather» International Collaboration call supports 2–3-year collaborations between arts practitioners, cultural organisations and institutions in Switzerland and their counterparts in the regions of the Pro Helvetia liaison offices. DJ MoCity on research trip to Switzerland Photo credit: Cheb Moha DJ MoCity aka Mo is an award-winning selector, promoter and co-founder of South Asia’s first online community radio - Boxout.fm. Born and raised in Baghdad and New Delhi, he spent his early days as a hip-hop loving teenager in India’s capital city. Mo has since grown into a highly experienced and respected musical tastemaker, playing an instrumental role in the development of creative communities across Asia and the Middle East. During his research trip, DJ MoCity hopes to interact with local musicians and curators and visit local radio stations, record labels and music festivals across the medium of music and arts. Read more about DJ MoCity's at prohelvetia.in. GALLERYSandeep TK is a lens-based artist from Thalassery, Kerala, living and working in Bangalore. His practice involves photography, text and videos which often involves himself and focuses on the idea of human relationships, space and memory through personal experience and exploration of his identity and surroundings. In “Singularity”, Sandeep explores a relationship and its absence through the motif of a chair. “I walked out of his life after six months, I left the town and the only thing I want to take away with me was that chair,” says the artist. |
