The Wackiest, Most Unusual Spring Festivals in the U.S.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that today is a random Thursday in April, I have decadently and shamefully already ordered food to be delivered to my house before 11 am, and no amount of affirmational Instagram posts that I stumble across on my is enough to convince me that I should be radiating positive energy. I'm vibrating as high as I can right now, and if you can't accept me like this, I don't know what to tell you. I think it's time for some new self-help language. We need to move away from "vibrations" and "light" and celebrate some unexpected human virtues, like completely zoning out while cooking something and then being like "wait, am I cooking this?" or reading every word of an article that seems like it was generated by a bot about the reasons the moon is making you bad at answering texts, or typing "heartwarming photo of koala behind the wheel of a car that will make the crushing realities of existence seem banal" into Google and seeing what comes up.

Today's stories include: the strangest spring festivals across the country, the best places to eat at Coachella, the hotels with the best beer programs, and a camping guide for New York State. Let the adventures begin!

Have a beautiful rest of your Thursday,

These are all the most bizarre spring festivals taking place in America right now, from a UFO festival in Oregon to a competition to see who can "trap as many grits on their body in 10 seconds" to a "Duck Tape" festival in Ohio. Well, now that I'm looking at the list, there are actually multiple UFO festivals. If the thought of going to a festival that is completely devoted to celebrating the act of removing the invasive species lionfish from coastal waters in Florida doesn't get you excited for spring, I don't know what will!

Ye is no longer playing at Coachella, but hopefully that hasn't affected your plans too much, and you're planning on seeing some incredible musical acts and eating some amazing food while you're at the famed music festival. When you're not putting all your body weight into getting past a pack of stubborn strangers to hear Billie Eilish whisper a song about being online, you can try out one of these amazing food stops. Enjoy some soul food, or a caviar feast, or some organic vegetarian options. We've got you covered.

Sure, these hotels have elevated thread counts and all the amenities, but is their beer menu up to snuff? Check out our list of the hotels around the country with the best beer programs. Is there anything better than cracking open a cold one at a four-star hotel? You can live luxuriously and enjoy a crisp refreshing lager.

There's a new interactive camping guide for New York State, so you can know what to expect before you pitch your tent and get to work rubbing two sticks together trying to generate fire. That's what you guys do when you go camping, right? I will bring the whiskey, cigarettes, and Ouija board if you guys get the fire started.
